Sadly, the Raleigh Sunday Session is still on hiatus. However, we have lots of sessions starting up throughout the state. This includes new sessions in Jacksonville, Wilson and Carrboro.
On the Second Saturdays of the month there is a new session at the Cup of Joy Coffee House in Wilson, NC from 2-4pm. This session is run by accomplished Celtic musician Ed Harris and is currently a beginners learning session. The group is working on building up a repertoire of tunes with Ed giving some instruction on new tunes each session. In the future as the session develops they may add a fast session for more experienced players.
For more experienced players, fiddler Eli Howel and some of the other members of Tan & Sober Gentlemen have started a session in Carrboro, NC on the Second Monday of the month at the Belltree Cocktail Club from 7-9pm. This is a faster paced session full of fiddle tunes.
For those that love to sing, you can join Micky Spain at the Angry Ginger in Jacksonville every other Sunday from 1-4pm. You can join the Friends of The Angry Ginger Session Facebook Group for the latest information on this session and check when the next session is scheduled.
In Raleigh the NC State Sessions is on Tuesdays at the Tally Student Union Center at 5pm. The last session will be on Tuesday April 18th before they take a break for the summer.
In Pittsboro their is a session on the Third Sunday of the month, 4pm to-7 pm at the Red Moose Brewing Company. This is the same session that used to be at the Mod Deli.
The Wilmington session is still going strong and is back at the Harp after traveling around a bit this last year.
