A Sisterhood of Irish and Irish-American, Catholic Women, Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians (LAOH) is a National organization originally called “Daughters of Erin”.
If you are proud of you Irish heritage and are interested in joining one of the six divisions in North Carolina please use the information below to contact your local division. If we do not already have a division near you please email State President Bernadette Brady to discuss the possibility of starting a division in your area.

Membership is open to Any woman eighteen (18) years or older, being a practicing Roman Catholic, who is Irish or of Irish descent through either parent, or who is legally adopted, or who is the wife or mother of a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in America, or the mother of a member of either the Junior Division of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, Inc., or the Ancient Order of Hibernians in America, or a woman of a religious order shall be eligible for membership in this order. Any woman possessing the above qualifications may be admitted to membership with all rights and privileges.
The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians is not an auxiliary and is it’s own independent organization separate from the Ancient Order of Hibernians. However, the Hibernians of both organizations consider themselves Brothers and Sisters share the common motto of “Friendship, Unity and Christian Charity” and work together on many projects here in the State of North Carolina and throughout the country.
